Job Description
- You will deliver mail and parcels to homes, plus rural areas, using your personal car.
- You work independently while you follow the delivery routes and the schedules that are already in place.
- You’ll sort, pick up, and deliver mail, safely, without rushing it in a careless manner. You also provide dependable postal services in all kinds of weather and traffic.
- You are expected to keep a strong customer service standard, because you represent Canada Post.
Responsibilities
- Sorting, collecting, and delivering mail on time, and in a safe manner.
- Learning and keeping up with local roads, customers, delivery points, basically knowing the area.
- Securing mail during the time it is in your care.
- Wearing the Canada Post identification while you are doing deliveries.
- Driving carefully in any weather and road situations.
Requirements
- You must have a valid permanent provincial Class 5, or G driver’s license.
- You need a satisfactory driving record, a driver’s abstract will be required.
- Any past experience driving, and making deliveries is a strong plus, but it’s not always mandatory.
