Job Description

  • Solution Architect role supporting Corporate Digital and Technology initiatives.
  • Mainly focusing on end-to-end solution design and technical oversight.
  • Located in Dorval, Quebec, in a collaborative corporate atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Create and oversee solution architectures from start to finish that reflect the needs of the business, making sure to consider the technical choices and performance aspects.
  • Take the initiative to go through the architecture documentation, improve it, and analyze it according to the best practices, standards, and design principles established in the industry. When needed, support the selection of technology and products.
  • Project the architectural designs to technical committees and groups with no technical background while communicating them.
  • Aiding the solution delivery by offering advice to both the development teams and the project managers.
  • Assist in carrying out the project with both the in-house and the outside teams by implementing and supervising the architecture standards.
  • Make sure that the quality of the solution is up to the enterprise architecture strategies as well as being in line with them.
  • Become the architect making the decisions and providing the technical support throughout the {project} implementation cycle.
  • Architect the documents and take part in the phase of documentation that rehones the enterprise architects.
  • Be on the lookout for improvement opportunities that are continuous and come up with standard templates for solutions to be used.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or a relevant field; an advanced degree would be an asset.
  • TOGAF certification (preferred).
  • At least a decade in IT, with a minimum of five years in solution architecture for enterprise systems.
  • Comfortable working with diverse technical teams, both independently and in collaboration.
  • A strong understanding of the business, drive, and good people skills are necessary.
  • Familiarity with open-source technologies, application and integration frameworks at a very high level.
  • Experience with web, and mobile application domains.
  • Very well-versed in SOA, APIs, web services, JSON, XML, XML Schema, XSL.
  • Have a great deal of experience in integrating mainframe, client-server, off-the-shelf, and bespoke systems.
  • Have a high degree of proficiency in business rules engines.
  • Have been part of the design Process of secure, scalable, and high-performance applications.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS platforms like DB2, MySQL, MS SQL Server.
  • You have shown your punctuality and rely on others in the fast paced environments.
  • At the time of the job offer, you could work in the country, and obtaining permits or visas would be your responsibility.
  • Bilingualism is a preference based on equal qualifications.
