Canada Job Centre ( canadajobcentre.com ) is one of Canada's original online job portals, established in 2001. We connect job seekers, newcomers, and employers across Canada via our web platform and official iOS/Android mobile applications.

02Data We Collect

We collect information to operate our portal and mobile apps efficiently in the following ways:

• Contact forms. When you submit enquiries to us, we collect your name, email address, and message contents.
• Job applications. If you apply for verified roles through our site, we process the professional details provided in your application.
• Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses. We capture raw connection parameters (full IP addresses) to identify localized geographic regions and prevent malicious network layer attacks.
• Mobile Advertising IDs. If you use our iOS or Android app, we collect device-specific advertising identifiers (such as Apple IDFA or Android Advertising ID) to serve personalized ads.
• Analytics. We collect anonymized telemetry regarding how visitors interact with our website and apps (pages visited, device types, browser/OS info).
• Cookies. We utilize state identifiers to improve session continuity and site performance (see Section 04).

Note: We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 13.

Zero Data Brokerage: We do not sell your personal information. We do not make automated decisions about you. Google may use cookies or your device’s advertising identifier to personalize ads (see Section 06); in the EU, the UK and Switzerland only with your consent.

04Cookies & Identifiers

Our infrastructure deploys small state files (cookies) to your browser and utilizes mobile device identifiers to preserve usability and serve relevant content:

• Essential Cookies. Required for core website security and application routing.
• Analytics Tracking. Helps us quantify page load speeds and traffic patterns via Google Analytics.
• Advertising Cookies & IDs. Deployed by Google AdSense (web) and AdMob (mobile) to serve contextual and personalized career advertisements.

Visitors from the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before analytics and advertising cookies are used; until they agree, Google Analytics works without cookies and only non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy link Google adds at the bottom of the page. A language cookie and, for administrators, a sign-in cookie are always set because the site needs them.

05Third-Party Services

We partner with enterprise-grade infrastructure providers to host, secure, and monetize our platform:

• OVHcloud (Beauharnois, Quebec, Canada): Our servers: the website, the database and the resume files you upload
• Cloudflare: Network security and fast delivery of pages; all visits pass through its worldwide network
• Google Workspace: Sends our emails, including the applications (with resume) you send to employers
• Google Analytics: Anonymized web and app traffic metrics
• Google AdSense & AdMob: Web and mobile app advertisement placement
• Google Firebase: Push notifications and crash reports in our mobile apps
• Browser push services: Deliver the job alerts you turn on (Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft, depending on your browser)
• Cloudinary: Stores employer logos and article images (no personal data)

05bWhere Your Data Is Stored

We store your personal information in Canada. Our website, our database (job applications, contact messages and job-alert subscriptions) and the resume files you upload are on our own servers with OVHcloud in Beauharnois, Quebec.

Some of the service providers listed above process data outside Canada, mainly in the United States: Google (sending emails, including your application to the employer; analytics; advertising; app notifications), Cloudflare (every visit passes through its worldwide network) and your browser’s push service. Data handled outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country. We use these providers only for the purposes described in this policy.

06Advertising (Web & Mobile)

Canada Job Centre displays advertisements served by Google AdSense on our website and Google AdMob on our iOS and Android mobile applications.

When an ad is shown, Google receives your IP address and information about the page and your device, and may share it with advertisers that bid for the ad space, to choose, show and measure ads. In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, personalized ads are shown only if you consent.

On the web, Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits. On our mobile apps, we collect and share your device's advertising identifier (such as Apple's IDFA or Android's AAID) with Google AdMob to provide personalized advertising.

07Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you maintain full sovereignty over your personal data:

• Right to request access to personal data held by us
• Right to request correction of inaccurate records
• Right to request complete deletion of your submitted data
• Right to withdraw processing consent at any time
• Right to lodge inquiries with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

07bVisitors From the EU, UK and Switzerland (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the Swiss data protection act also applies. Why we may use your data (legal bases)

• To send the job application you ask us to send, and to answer your messages: to take the steps you request (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Analytics and advertising cookies, and job alerts: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Keeping the site secure, preventing spam and fraud, confirming that an application was delivered, and the one review invitation after an application: our legitimate interests, which do not override your rights (Art. 6(1)(f)).

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier use. Write to contact@canadajobcentre.com; we answer within one month. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Your data is stored in Canada, which the European Commission, the UK and Switzerland recognize as providing adequate protection for personal data. Where a provider processes data in the United States (see Section 05b), the transfer relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses used by that provider.

08Data Retention

We retain personal information strictly for the period required to fulfil the operational purpose: contact inquiries are archived for up to 12 months, while anonymized analytical metrics are purged automatically after 26 months.

• Resume files: deleted within 72 hours after your application is sent.
• Application records (which job, your contact details, delivery status): kept to confirm delivery and handle questions, and deleted on request.
• Job-alert subscriptions: kept until you turn alerts off or your browser or device stops accepting them.
• Review-invitation opt-outs: kept so that we never write to you again.

08bJob Applications You Send Through This Site

When you apply through the form on a job page, we send your name, email address, phone number, your answers and your resume to that employer by email, on your behalf, so that the employer can reply to you directly. We send it only to the employer of that posting, and we never sell it or use it for advertising.

Your resume file is deleted from our servers within 72 hours of your application being sent. We keep a record of the application itself (which job, your contact details and whether the employer’s mail server accepted it) so we can confirm delivery and help you if something goes wrong. Write to us and we will delete that record on request.

A few days after your first application is sent, we email you once to ask how applying through Canada Job Centre went, with a link to review us on Trustpilot. Everyone who applies gets the same email, there is no reward for reviewing, and leaving a review is entirely up to you. We send it only once per email address, and the email has a link to opt out.

09Security

Our platform forces Transport Layer Security ( HTTPS/TLS ) across all endpoints to encrypt network transmissions. We maintain modern firewall and container isolation practices to prevent unauthorized database access.
