Telecommunication line technician

Apex Fibre Limited in Mississauga, ON is inviting applications for the position of Telecommunication line technician. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. The schedule involves Morning, Day, Evening shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment.
• The candidate must install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment.
• The candidate must read blueprints to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must repair cable signals.
• The candidate must install trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
• The candidate must complete and maintain test and service reports.
• The candidate must determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble.
• The candidate must climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
• The candidate must connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.
• The candidate must determine work assignments.
• The candidate must install cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
• The candidate must maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems.
• The candidate must repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.
• The candidate must splice, join, and connect wires.
• The candidate must repair or replace defective telephone equipment.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
