Construction trades helper

Apex Fibre Limited in Mississauga, ON is inviting applications for the position of Construction trades helper. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Evening.

Job Description

• The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
• The candidate must operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials.
• The candidate must perform pre-operational inspections.
• The candidate must read blueprints to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
• The candidate must operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into the earth to provide support for buildings and other structures.
• The candidate must mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt accurately.
• The candidate must assist the medical examiner in charge.
• The candidate must assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
• The candidate must assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
• The candidate must level earth to meet fine grade specifications.
• The candidate must pave and rake asphalt.
• The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
• The candidate must perform routine maintenance work.
• The candidate must clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
• The candidate must remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
• The candidate must tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
• The candidate must direct traffic at or near construction sites.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be hardworking.
