Shipper-receiver

Shamrock Bottle Depot is situated in Medicine Hat, AB and is hiring a Shipper-receiver to join the team. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
• The candidate must assemble containers and crates.
• The candidate must maintain internal record-keeping systems.
• The candidate must route goods to appropriate storage areas.
• The candidate must pack goods to be shipped.
• The candidate must affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments.
• The candidate must oversee loading and unloading of goods.
• The candidate must supervise material handlers and helpers.
• The candidate must pay and receive payments for goods.
• The candidate must operate a forklift.
• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a bottle depot to sort, process, and manage bottles and recyclable materials efficiently and safely.
