Sawmill worker

MIRAX LUMBER PRODUCTS LTD. in Abbotsford, BC is inviting applications for the position of Sawmill worker. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Evening, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must feed conveyors, hoppers, saws, and drying machines.
• The candidate must load chips, sulfur, and processing materials.
• The candidate must sort, pile, and transport wood products.
• The candidate must remove scrap lumber and wood chips for reprocessing.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a sawmill to operate machinery, process timber, and maintain quality and safety standards.
