Plumber apprentice

CL Plumbing & Heating in Lethbridge, AB is inviting applications for the position of Plumber apprentice. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Overtime required, Morning, Day, Evening, To be determined, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must install domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
• The candidate must repair domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
• The candidate must locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
• The candidate must cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• The candidate must join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
• The candidate must test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
• The candidate must determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
• The candidate must measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must be able to handle a large workload.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
• The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
• The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.
