APEX ALUMINUM EXTRUSIONS in Langley, BC is inviting applications for the position of Maintenance mechanic technician - industrial. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Work schedule: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must assemble mechanical equipment.
• The candidate must assemble stationary industrial machinery.
• The candidate must coach and instruct apprentices.
• The candidate must detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
• The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must construct foundations for machinery installations.
• The candidate must repair or replace defective machinery parts.
• The candidate must supervise other workers.
• The candidate must fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up.
• The candidate must perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
• The candidate must operate machining tools to fabricate parts.
• The candidate must program programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• The candidate must install machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must commission systems and components.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work on the installation stage at which machinery is unpacked, reassembled, realigned, connected to essential services, and tested exhaustively to ensure it operates at peak operating efficiency when it finally goes into production.
• The candidate should be involved in the maintenance, repair, and maintenance of machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings.
• The candidate must work in a service environment, performing job duties within the setting, social interactions, and physical conditions required by the role.
• The candidate should work on machine set-up, the time required to prepare a machine for its next run after producing the last part of the previous run.
• The candidate must work in an aluminum plant to operate machinery, process aluminum products, and ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
• The candidate must work in an aluminum rolling, casting, and extruding plant to operate machinery, process aluminum products, and ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
