Licensed practical nurse (L.P.N.)

Roseway Manor in Reids Hill, NS is seeking a self-motivated Licensed practical nurse (L.P.N.). We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment - Part time position. The schedule involves Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must administer medications as prescribed.
• The candidate must apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing.
• The candidate must conduct specimen collection in accordance with protocols.
• The candidate must ensure infection control.
• The candidate must observe and record medication’s therapeutic and side effects.
• The candidate must record observations of medication therapeutic effects and side effects in patient files.
• The candidate must take vital signs.
• The candidate must monitor established respiratory and intravenous therapy treatments.
• The candidate must provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
• The candidate must provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
• The candidate must monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team.
