Licensed practical nurse (L.P.N.)

Vondy House in Miramichi, NB is inviting applications for the position of Licensed practical nurse (L.P.N.). We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. Position status: Permanent employment - Part time. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must administer medications as prescribed.
• The candidate must conduct specimen collection in accordance with protocols.
• The candidate must ensure infection control.
• The candidate must monitor nutritional intake.
• The candidate must observe and record medication’s therapeutic and side effects.
• The candidate must record observations of medication therapeutic effects and side effects in patient files.
• The candidate must take vital signs.
• The candidate must provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
• The candidate must provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
• The candidate must monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
