Job Description

  • The candidate must operate computerized inventory record-keeping and re-ordering systems.
  • The candidate must provide advice regarding merchandise to customers.
  • The candidate must advertise and/or promote products, sales, or services.
  • The candidate must provide exceptional customer service.
  • The candidate must assist in the display of merchandise.
  • The candidate must greet customers and discuss the type, quality, and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental, or lease.
  • The candidate must maintain sales records for inventory control.
  • The candidate must prepare merchandise for purchase, rental, or lease.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must be fluent in French.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • Equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • The candidate should have an eye for detail.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
  • The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.

Work Setting

  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
  • The candidate should work in a hardware store that sells household hardware for home improvement.
