Ski coach

Cypress Ski Club ( West Vancouver, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Ski coach. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must carry out management duties.
• The candidate must coordinate competitive programs.
• The candidate must develop well-planned competitive schedules and programs.
• The candidate must perform clerical duties, such as maintaining filing systems.
• The candidate must plan, develop, and implement training and practice sessions.
• The candidate must motivate and prepare athletes or teams for competitive events or games.
• The candidate must participate in coaching clinic instruction.
• The candidate must analyze and evaluate athletes’ or teams’ performance.
• The candidate must observe and evaluate prospective athletes’ skills and performance.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
• The candidate must demonstrate leadership.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must uphold values and ethics.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work in a local sports club to organize activities, coach participants, and maintain facilities.

Security and Safety

• The candidate must undergo a criminal record check.

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must be willing to travel frequently.
• The candidate must be willing to travel overnight.
