Our Lady Queen of Peace Montessori School in Brantford, ON is inviting applications for the position of Early childhood educator assistant. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Casual employment - Part time employment. Work schedule: Morning, Day, On call, Flexible hours, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records.
• The candidate must engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
• The candidate must prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
• The candidate must submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
• The candidate must discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
• The candidate must plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
• The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
• The candidate must work in a nursery school to provide early childhood education, supervision, and developmental support.
• The candidate should work in before and after-school programs to provide a safe, fun environment for all students to participate in academic, leisure, and recreational activities outside the traditional school day.
• The candidate must work in a daycare center or nursery school, providing care and supervision while supporting educational and recreational activities that promote children’s cognitive and social development.
