Early childhood education worker

FOREST GROVE CHILD CARE CENTRE ( Burnaby, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Early childhood education worker. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
• The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• The candidate must observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• The candidate must establish guidelines for behaviour.
• The candidate must establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
• The candidate must plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
