Early childhood supervisor

'Ccaa' Infant and Toddler Child Care Centre in Burnaby, BC is inviting applications for the position of Early childhood supervisor. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Morning, Day shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
• The candidate must lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
• The candidate must order supplies and equipment.
• The candidate must encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities.
• The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• The candidate must observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• The candidate must discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
• The candidate must establish guidelines for behaviour.
• The candidate must establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
• The candidate must plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
• The candidate must supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must uphold values and ethics.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
• The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
