Christmas tree labourer

M. MacPherson & Sons Christmas Trees Ltd. in Boylston, NS is inviting applications for the position of Christmas tree labourer. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This is a Seasonal employment or Full time position. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas.
• The candidate must shear Christmas trees.
• The candidate must tie and secure plants.
• The candidate must assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
• The candidate must perform tree removal.
• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate must work from a remote location, performing their duties from a site other than the employer’s central office while maintaining productivity and communication.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
