Auto body technician - collision

Bowen's Autobody Repair & Sales Inc in Westville, NS is seeking a self-motivated Auto body technician - collision. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. The schedule involves Morning, Day, Evening, Shift shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must inspect repaired vehicles.
• The candidate must plan repair work to be performed.
• The candidate must test drive vehicles to ensure proper handling and performance.
• The candidate must clean and maintain workspaces.
• The candidate must replace front-end components, body components, doors, frames, and underbody components.
• The candidate must file, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired.
• The candidate must mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
• The candidate must hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers.
• The candidate must remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
• The candidate must apply primers and repaint surfaces.
• The candidate must repair or replace interior components.
• The candidate must repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs.
• The candidate must mix paint and blend and match colors.
• The candidate must operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
• The candidate must straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
