Veterinary technician

ALPENLOFTS VETERINARY HOSPITAL in Squamish, BC is inviting applications for the position of Veterinary technician. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must collect samples and perform other laboratory tests.
• The candidate must handle, restrain, and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
• The candidate must assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgery.
• The candidate must prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian.
• The candidate must counsel clients on animal health care.
• The candidate may perform a variety of office management and clerical duties.
• The candidate must perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry.
• The candidate must provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
