Graphic designer

Watson Design Inc. is situated in Squamish, BC and is hiring a Graphic designer to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Shift timings include: , 08:00 to 18:30.

Job Description

• The candidate must supervise graphic designers or graphic arts technicians.
• The candidate must work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• The candidate must co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual, or electronic materials.
• The candidate must consult with clients to establish the overall look, graphic elements, and content of communications materials.
• The candidate must determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication.
• The candidate must develop the graphic elements that meet the clients’ objectives.
• The candidate must prepare sketches, layouts, and graphic elements.
• The candidate must use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides.
• The candidate must operate machines and equipment.
• The candidate must operate laser cutters.
• The candidate must use computer numerical control (CNC) machines.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be creative.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be able to distinguish between colours.
• The candidate must be able to meet tight deadlines.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate must work in a printing shop to operate printing equipment, produce high-quality printed materials, and manage daily production processes efficiently.
• The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
• The candidate must work in commercial printing to operate printing equipment, manage production processes, and produce high-quality printed materials efficiently.
