Veterinarian

Spall & Harvey Animal Hospital Inc. ( Kelowna, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Veterinarian. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Day, Evening, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests.
• The candidate must hire and train staff.
• The candidate must treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery.
• The candidate must vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
• The candidate must advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
• The candidate must perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.
• The candidate must provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• The candidate must supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must show initiative.
