Truck driver

Onway Transport Inc ( Calgary, AB) is currently looking for a skilled Truck driver. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Flexible availability required for: Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must plan or adjust routes using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
• The candidate must coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques.
• The candidate must demonstrate expertise in mountain driving.
• The candidate must demonstrate professionalism in customer service.
• The candidate must drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• The candidate must obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
• The candidate must perform brake adjustments.
• The candidate must perform emergency roadside repairs.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must perform preventive maintenance.
• The candidate must receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• The candidate must tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
