Transport truck driver

Westland Transport Ltd. is situated in Aldergrove, BC and is hiring a Transport truck driver to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Required shifts: Early morning, Morning, Evening, Night, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must address and resolve customers' complaints or concerns professionally.
• The candidate must demonstrate expertise in mountain driving.
• The candidate must drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate must perform emergency roadside repairs.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must perform preventive maintenance.
• The candidate must receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• The candidate must transport and handle dangerous goods.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be hardworking.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
