Tour guide

Destination NWT is situated in Yellowknife, NT and is hiring a Tour guide to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Flexible hours, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must drive sightseeing or tour vehicles.
• The candidate must confirm transportation and accommodation reservations.
• The candidate must collect administration or entrance fees.
• The candidate must coordinate recreation activities.
• The candidate must describe points of interest, answer questions, and provide information.
• The candidate must resolve itinerary and other problems.
• The candidate must assist clients with check-in procedures for accommodation and/or transportation.
• The candidate must utilize microphones or other communication devices to provide directions and pertinent information to visitors.
• The candidate must coordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups.
• The candidate must provide information on tipping customs, currency exchange rates, metric conversion, and other details.
• The candidate must assist clients/guests with special needs.
• The candidate must conduct guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions and heritage sites, respond to inquiries and provide relevant information.

• The candidate must work from a remote location, performing their duties from a site other than the employer’s central office while maintaining productivity and communication.
• The candidate should work in staff accommodation that offers live-in accommodation when an employer provides a housing offer to its employees.
• The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
