About these jobs
Farm and greenhouse work is one of the largest sources of entry-level jobs in Canada. Most roles are general farm workers or harvesting labourers in TEER 5 of the National Occupational Classification, and many employers train new workers on the job.
Work is often seasonal, from spring planting to the fall harvest, though greenhouses, mushroom farms and livestock operations hire all year. Expect physical work outdoors or in greenhouses, early starts and weekend shifts during harvest.
Questions
Do I need experience for farm jobs in Canada?
Usually not. Tick “No experience needed (training provided)” to see the farm jobs where the employer trains you.
Can foreign workers apply?
You need the right to work in Canada. Some farm employers hire through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program with an LMIA; each posting says what the employer accepts.
How much do farm workers earn?
Most farm jobs here pay by the hour, at or above the provincial minimum wage. Each job shows its pay and hours.
