Algonquin Nursing Home is situated in Mattawa, ON and is hiring a Registered practical nurse (R.P.N.) to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. We are offering a Casual employment - Part time opportunity. Work schedule: Day, Evening, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must administer medications as prescribed.
• The candidate must apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing.
• The candidate must conduct specimen collection in accordance with protocols.
• The candidate must ensure infection control.
• The candidate must monitor nutritional intake.
• The candidate must observe and record medication’s therapeutic and side effects.
• The candidate must record observations of medication therapeutic effects and side effects in patient files.
• The candidate must take vital signs.
• The candidate must monitor established respiratory and intravenous therapy treatments.
• The candidate must provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
• The candidate must provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
• The candidate must monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team.
