Periodontal hygienist

Barrhaven Orthodontics & Periodontics in Nepean, ON is seeking a self-motivated Periodontal hygienist. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Shift timings include: Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must conduct initial dental assessments.
• The candidate must consult with dentists on patient care.
• The candidate must instruct patients regarding oral hygiene.
• The candidate must clean and stimulate the gums to prevent gum disease.
• The candidate must apply fluoride treatment.
• The candidate must remove stains and deposits from teeth.
• The candidate must take, develop, and mount X-rays.
• The candidate must apply and remove temporary dressings.
• The candidate must remove sutures.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a specialty dental practice, providing support in patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks.
