Job Description

  • The candidate must consult with other healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment plans.
  • The candidate must diagnose behavioural disorders.
  • The candidate must evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and patient outcomes.
  • The candidate must interview clients, prepare case histories and assess presenting problems.
  • The candidate must interview patients to obtain relevant information.
  • The candidate must accurately record observations.
  • The candidate must review reports from healthcare professionals to determine patients’ current and potential functioning levels.
  • The candidate must prepare individualized treatment plans for each patient.
  • The candidate must provide education to clients regarding health promotion, injury prevention, management, and treatment.
  • The candidate must provide therapeutic services.
  • The candidate must counsel individuals and groups to support personal, social and vocational development.
  • The candidate must implement approved treatment plans.
  • The candidate must perform administrative tasks.
  • The candidate must apply psychological theory and principles regarding behavior and mental processes.
  • The candidate must follow up on counseling program results and client adjustments.
  • The candidate must liaise with community agencies or partners to coordinate services and provide referrals.
