Mental health counsellor

Now hiring: Mental health counsellor at Compassionate Grief Centre in Fredericton, NB. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Term or contractPart time. Shift timings include: Morning, Day, Evening, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must accurately record observations.
• The candidate must provide therapeutic services.
• The candidate must perform administrative tasks.
• The candidate must develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in setting and achieving goals.
• The candidate must counsel clients, provide therapy and mediation services and facilitate group sessions.
• The candidate must maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• The candidate must participate in fundraising activities.
• The candidate must identify additional or alternative services and provide appropriate referrals.
• The candidate must liaise with community agencies or partners to coordinate services and provide referrals.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must possess a master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a clinic.
• The candidate must work in a community service organization providing outreach and support services.
• The candidate must work in counselling centres delivering counselling and support services.
• The candidate must work in an independent or private practice to provide professional services and manage client care.
• The candidate must work in a social service or charity agency, delivering programs and support that address community needs and promote social welfare.
• The candidate must work in a hospital, medical facility, or clinic, including departments or outpatient centers focused on sports medicine, rehabilitation, or wellness.
• The applicant should work in a healthcare institution, facility, or clinic that provides health care.
• The candidate must work in a mental health institution or clinic to support patient care, assist professionals, and maintain safe operations.
