Medical attendant - patient transfer

Tactical Medical Service Inc. ( Nanaimo, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Medical attendant - patient transfer. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, On call, Flexible hours, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up, and assembling medical equipment.
• The candidate must assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
• The candidate must perform other duties related to patient care and comfort.
• The candidate must take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• The candidate must weigh, lift, turn, and position patients.
• The candidate must make beds and maintain patients’ rooms.
• The candidate must transport patients between care facilities.
• The candidate must transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.
• The candidate must administer first aid in emergency situations.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work from a remote location, performing their duties from a site other than the employer’s central office while maintaining productivity and communication.
• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate should work in a hospital or home for the aged; an aged care home, residential care and nursing home all describe the same service.
• The candidate must work in a hospital, medical facility, or clinic, including departments or outpatient centers focused on sports medicine, rehabilitation, or wellness.
• The candidate should work in a nursing home/home for the aged or people who don't need to be in a hospital but can't be cared for at home.
• The candidate should work in public or community health centre providers may work in medical clinics, community health centres and allied health practices, such as physiotherapy and podiatry practices.
• The candidate should work in a rehabilitation centre and unique health institution in inpatient or outpatient hospital settings, outpatient physio- or occupational therapy practices, and community settings such as an individual's home, a school or a workplace.
