Job Description
- The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
- The candidate must measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools.
- The candidate must apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, and other application and installation methods.
- The candidate must fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs.
- The candidate must install vapor barriers and fire-retardant materials.
- The candidate must supervise other workers.
- The candidate must brush waterproofing cement or other materials over insulating materials.
- The candidate must fabricate and apply removable insulation pads and covers.
- The candidate must assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be fluent in English.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
Work Site Environment
- The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
- The candidate must work in hot conditions.
Work Setting
- The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeple jacking, and wall and floor work.
- The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
- The candidate must work in the installation process to set up large-scale, mixed-media constructions, often designed for a specific location or time period.
- The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.
- The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
