Heavy-duty equipment mechanic

D.B.I. Dry-Blast Inc. in Edmonton, AB is seeking a self-motivated Heavy-duty equipment mechanic. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Work schedule: Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must instruct apprentices.
• The candidate must troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• The candidate must diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
• The candidate must adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
• The candidate must keep maintenance reports and documentation.
• The candidate must have welding experience.
• The candidate must test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
• The candidate must clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work.
• The candidate must perform repair work on heavy trucks.
• The candidate must perform other routine maintenance.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a transportation company to operate, coordinate, and manage transport services safely and efficiently.
• The candidate should work in a shop work interactive meeting where a group goes through a series of activities to solve a problem or work on a project.
