Executive chef

Nakhon Thai in Brockville, ON is inviting applications for the position of Executive chef. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Flexible hours, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items.
• The candidate must maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• The candidate must demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
• The candidate must supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
• The candidate must create new recipes.
• The candidate must instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
• The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
• The candidate must consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions.
• The candidate must plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• The candidate must prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
• The candidate must lead and instruct individuals.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must demonstrate leadership.
