Job Description

The candidate must assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
The candidate must bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
The candidate must assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
The candidate must lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
The candidate must assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records.
The candidate must engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
The candidate must submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
The candidate must plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
The candidate must plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.

Job Requirements

The candidate must be fluent in English.
The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year.
The candidate must be reliable.
