Early childhood educator (ECE) assistant

Sprouts House - Early Learning Center Ltd. is situated in Victoria, BC and is hiring a Early childhood educator (ECE) assistant to join the team. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment.

Job Description

• The candidate must assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties.
• The candidate must maintain daycare equipment.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records.
• The candidate must engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
• The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• The candidate must prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
• The candidate must submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
• The candidate must attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and challenges of children.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be honest.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.

• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
