Drywall installer

NBK Construction Ltd. in Victoria, BC is seeking a self-motivated Drywall installer. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. The schedule involves Overtime required, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, On call, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must clean and prepare surfaces.
• The candidate must cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• The candidate must fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
• The candidate must fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
• The candidate must measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets.
• The candidate must smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry.
• The candidate must tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
• The candidate must install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
• The candidate must install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings using hand and power tools.
• The candidate must work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or equivalent experience.
