Desi Bistro and Lovely Sweets in Calgary, AB is inviting applications for the position of Cook. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Required shifts: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, On call, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must determine appropriate food portion sizes and associated costs.
• The candidate must plan menus and estimate food requirements for preparation.
• The candidate must requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
• The candidate must prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• The candidate must prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
• The candidate must maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
• The candidate must clean kitchen and work areas.
• The candidate must organize buffets and banquets.
• The candidate must manage kitchen operations.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.

Work Setting

• The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
• The candidate's relocation costs should not be covered by the employer; if the company does not provide a relocation package, you may request an advance on your earnings to cover some of your moving expenses.
