Construction labourer

Omega Formwork Inc. in Mount Uniacke, NS is inviting applications for the position of Construction labourer. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
• The candidate must operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials.
• The candidate must clean and lubricate cranes.
• The candidate must erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
• The candidate must mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt accurately.
• The candidate must assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
• The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
• The candidate must perform routine maintenance work.
• The candidate must remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
• The candidate must tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
• The candidate must direct traffic at or near construction sites.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be hardworking.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.

• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work on high-rise building construction sites.
