Karakoram Restaurant Inc. in Vancouver, BC is seeking a self-motivated Chef. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call, To be determined, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• The candidate must analyze operating costs and other data.
• The candidate must demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
• The candidate must instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
• The candidate must supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• The candidate must prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
• The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
• The candidate must requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
• The candidate must plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• The candidate must prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• The candidate must supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
