Cashier

SHELL in Thunder Bay, ON is inviting applications for the position of Cashier. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Flexible hours, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must operate the cash register accurately.
• The candidate must process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments.
• The candidate must scan items.
• The candidate must tabulate total payment for goods or services required.
• The candidate must receive payment for goods or services.
• The candidate must calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales.
• The candidate must perform suggestive selling.
• The candidate must stock shelves and clean counter areas.
• The candidate must greet customers.
• The candidate must provide exceptional customer service.
• The candidate must assist customers with self-checkout.
• The candidate must monitor all entrances and exits and request proof of payment when necessary.
• The candidate must participate in promotional activities.
• The candidate must verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
