Cable installer - telecommunications

Advance Plus Tech Solutions Inc. ( Mount Pearl, NL) is currently looking for a skilled Cable installer - telecommunications. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. The schedule involves Overtime required, Morning, Evening, Weekend, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment.
• The candidate must install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment.
• The candidate must repair cable signals.
• The candidate must test equipment to locate transmission faults.
• The candidate must install trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
• The candidate must complete and maintain test and service reports.
• The candidate must climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
• The candidate must install cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
• The candidate must maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems.
• The candidate must repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.
• The candidate must splice, join, and connect wires.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must be able to work at heights.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in the installation process to set up large-scale, mixed-media constructions, often designed for a specific location or time period.
• The candidate should be involved in the maintenance, repair, and maintenance of machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings.
• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate must focus on repair work, restoring damaged, deteriorated, or broken items to good condition.
• The candidate must work in a telecommunications company to install, maintain, and manage communication systems and networks.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
