Appliance service technician

Sutton & Son Appliances in St. Catharines, ON is seeking a self-motivated Appliance service technician. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Work schedule: Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must conduct voltage, resistance, and other tests using electrical test equipment.
• The candidate must prepare written estimates of repair costs.
• The candidate must refer to schematic drawings or product manuals to repair parts.
• The candidate must diagnose faults using testing devices.
• The candidate must repair electrical appliances and components.
• The candidate must replace faulty components.
• The candidate must advise customers on work performed and the condition of equipment.
• The candidate must use shop equipment and specialized diagnostic and programming apparatus to repair, adjust and reprogram appliances.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must be able to distinguish between colours.

• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must have their own vehicle.
