By-law enforcement officer

Alberta Animal Services ( Red Deer, AB) is currently looking for a skilled By-law enforcement officer. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Shift timings include: Day, Evening, Weekend, On call, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• The candidate must resolve conflict situations.
• The candidate must recommend corrective or enforcement action.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate must be able to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
