Building handyperson

Elk + Avenue Hotel is situated in Banff, AB and is hiring a Building handyperson to join the team. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
• The candidate must operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and refuse.
• The candidate must empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• The candidate must wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
• The candidate must make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
• The candidate must contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
• The candidate must perform minor repairs on appliances.
• The candidate must show apartments and offices to prospective tenants.
• The candidate must supervise other workers.
• The candidate must move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• The candidate must perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
• The candidate must clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
• The candidate must clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
