Automotive painting technician

Calex is situated in Whitehorse, YT and is hiring a Automotive painting technician to join the team. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Day, On call, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must estimate repair costs based on damage examination reports.
• The candidate must inspect repaired vehicles.
• The candidate must plan repair work to be performed.
• The candidate must demonstrate professionalism in customer service.
• The candidate must test drive vehicles to ensure proper handling and performance.
• The candidate must clean and maintain workspaces.
• The candidate must instruct apprentices.
• The candidate must file, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired.
• The candidate must mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
• The candidate must hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers.
• The candidate must apply primers and repaint surfaces.
• The candidate must mix paint and blend and match colors.

• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
