Accounting technician

Ashton Chartered Professional Accountants in Hay River, NT is seeking a self-motivated Accounting technician. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Overtime required, Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must calculate fixed assets and depreciation accurately.
• The candidate must keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
• The candidate must maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
• The candidate must post journal entries.
• The candidate must prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
• The candidate must prepare tax returns.
• The candidate must prepare trial balances of books.
• The candidate must reconcile accounts.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• Or equivalent experience.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
