Veterinary technician

Sudbury Regional Cat Hospital ( Sudbury, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Veterinary technician. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must collect samples and perform other laboratory tests.
• The candidate must handle, restrain, and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
• The candidate must produce diagnostic radiographs.
• The candidate must assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgery.
• The candidate must prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian.
• The candidate must counsel clients on animal health care.
• The candidate must conduct and assist in laboratory research.
• The candidate may perform a variety of office management and clerical duties.
• The candidate must perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry.
• The candidate must provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
• The candidate must provide wound and bandage care.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• The candidate must be accurate.
