Veterinary assistant

Langley Meadows Animal Hospital is situated in Langley, BC and is hiring a Veterinary assistant to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity.

Job Description

• The candidate must handle, restrain, and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
• The candidate must assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgery.
• The candidate must prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian.
• The candidate must counsel clients on animal health care.
• The candidate may perform a variety of office management and clerical duties.
• The candidate must provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
• The candidate must provide wound and bandage care.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in an animal hospital to assist veterinary staff, provide care to animals, and support daily operations.
