Job Description

• The candidate must handle, restrain, and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
• The candidate must assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgery.
• The candidate must prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian.
• The candidate must administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian.
• The candidate must counsel clients on animal health care.
• The candidate may perform a variety of office management and clerical duties.
• The candidate must provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
• The candidate must provide wound and bandage care.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be versatile.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in an animal hospital to assist veterinary staff, provide care to animals, and support daily operations.
