Ultrasonic testing technician

Ultra-Traxx Inc. is situated in Edmonton, AB and is hiring a Ultrasonic testing technician to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects.
• The candidate must establish NDI techniques and calibration standards.
• The candidate must calibrate, test, and interpret ultrasonic equipment.
• The candidate must establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
• The candidate must instruct and supervise trainees.
• The candidate must maintain test result reports.
• The candidate must troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
• The candidate must recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• The candidate must provide clients with information.
• The candidate must maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
• The candidate must maintain records and statistics.
• The candidate must detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
• The candidate must conduct component defect investigations, examinations and tests.
• The candidate must maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
• The candidate must verify equipment efficiency.
• The candidate must identify and investigate compliance issues.
• The candidate must develop quality management and quality assurance standards.
• The candidate must conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with standards.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate must be accurate.

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work from a remote location, performing their duties from a site other than the employer’s central office while maintaining productivity and communication.
